Power Twitter

2007 April 10

I’m just about to download and check out Power Twitter for Firefox.

It promises to allow you to have:

  • Photo sharing with embedded flickr photos
  • Video sharing with embedded youtube videos
  • Shared tinyurls are unwound so you know where they link to
  • All links are mapped to their web page titles
  • Additional user information is mapped to Twitter users thanks to data conduits via 30 Boxes (e.g. flickr accounts, blog posts, del.icio.us links, and tons of other social media!)

I’m just afraid that other Twitter users won’t see what I embed unless they have the extension as well!

Paul – the plugin sounds interesting but isn’t it kind of escaping the overall point of keeping it under 140 characters (short, sweet and quick) if it’s actually embedding videos?

Just wanted to see if my Gravatar works here :)

Yep, I agree. That’s the kind of thing blogs are for, right?

I posted the link to the extension because I do believe it will be of interest to some folks, and to be honest I like the unwinding of TinyUrls so I know where the links are actually going before I click them.

I won’t be using the extension for myself for anything other than the TinyURL unwinding. Am I a Twitter purist? ;)

    Love the gravatar btw!

Thanks, that was drawn on my Tablet PC by Jake from 8-bit joystick. Here’s the full-size: http://www.makeyougohmm.com/images/2005/tdartrage1.jpg

He made me look pretty snarky LOL.

Come to think of it, Chris Pirillo did some drawings too of his dog and himself the same night. Here’s the original post back in 2005:
