Opera, the whiney spoilt kid that only a mother could love

The numbers speak for themselves. Microsoft are due to defend their IE policies to the European Commission after Opera lodged complaints about Microsoft’s IE bundling policies with Windows. Opera (you know them, they’re the guys with the web browser that nobody’s heard of except for them lodging antitrust complaints) are simply being a bunch of [...]

Chrome beat Opera – IE is next!! No really, it's true I tells ya!

So everybody (including me) is talking about Google Chrome. Yeah, great big woop! It’s simply yet another browser with a number of cool features which the big boys will rip off duplicate over time. To anyone who truly thinks Chrome will beat Internet Explorer for market share over time. Get your head out of your [...]

(Fire) Foxing Outlook

At my main machine I’ve been living more and more within Outlook (2007) as it is still one of the best PIM’s out there. However, I still rely on, and will under no circumstances give up a my web based services such as Gmail and Google Calendar. Most of the annoyances are easily overcome but [...]

Cross browser synchronization

Ionut Alex. Chitu has given some tips about using the “Google Browser Sync” extension in Firefox to save all your browser settings, history and bookmarks and have them available on multiple computers. While this tool has proved invaluable to me over the past few months, I must admit to finding the functionality lacking. Why? Because [...]

IE7b2 UI Issues. Basically it sucks!

Daniel Glazman has posted his report on IE7b2′s UI Issues. In terms of UI, this IE 7 beta 2 certainly does not feel like a beta, id est something not far away from final version. The whole UI seems unpolished and is sometimes very inconsistent. It really seems the graphics design – and even more [...]

Opera finally gets it!

Well it looks like the bods over at Opera have finally realised that nobody is going to pay them for the browser when the competition is free. They’ve removed the banner ads from the browser and done away with the licence fee, although you can still get premium e-mail support for $29 dollars. The Opera [...]

Sidebar issue fixed

There was a problem with the code which made the sidebar appear beneath all the post entries when this blog was viewed in Internet Exploder. I wasn’t aware of it until today, and I don’t know how long it’s been like that, but needless to say it’s now been resolved.

IE's market share is slipping

The growth of the competing browsers does show that chances are if Microsoft doesn’t do something in Longhorn they will lose control of the market. – Shining Arcania I found this thread on IE and Microsofts failure to properly implement standards in it’s browser at Channel9. What do I think about this… well I think [...]

IE gets Fired!

Lame title I know! But it looks like Microsoft’s interenet browser, Internet Explorer, faces some stiff competition from Mozilla’s FireBird! Firebird is still in Beta at version 0.8 but is already very stable and has replaced IE as my browser of choice. Why? Options, size, and speed. Firebird positively trashes IE in all these departments, [...]
